Moisturising – Tips For Glowing Healthy Skin

It is so important to moisturise, not only for you skin but also your entire body and mood. Benefits of moisturising for your skin are endless with glowing healthy skin that regenerates and gives off a youthful shine.

Let’s look at 4 main ways to moisturise your skin!

1. Water, Hydration, Electrolytes… Oh my!

It is recommended you drink 8 glasses of water a day. Sounds like a lot, but our beautiful bodies are made up of 70-80% water and need hydration to keep them going.

Did you know? The brain will focus and prioritise on keeping main organs running and neglect other areas such as skin or lips. This is why if you do not drink enough fluid your skin becomes dry, flaky and tight. Through rehydrating, you restore your body and skin; flush away the build-up of toxins and assists in balancing out the skin’s oil to prevent acne.

It will also lighten your mood. The more water you drink, coupled with the following points below the happier you will be.

2. Sunscreen (Slip, Slop, Slap…)

The Suns harsh rays consist of UVA and UVB photons. Not only do they heat up the area but if not shielded from them, can cause skin damage, premature aging and other problems. UVB are shorted wave length rays and don’t penetrate your skin.

What they do is cause significant damage to your DNA and is the primary cause of sunburn and skin cancers. UVA, are longer wavelength rays and these penetrate your skins 3 layers producing free radicals, breaking down the skins cells, disrupting regeneration and increasing signs of aging. Fear not! Sunscreen is here to help. Applying sunscreen (anything over SPF 30+) will shield you from these nasty rays. Apply it every day to protect your skin’s cells to ensure you fight the signs of aging.

3. Sleep

Are you getting enough? Experts recommend 7 – 9 hours quality sleep a night. This can be hard sometimes but it is very important. Sleep allows the body to restore itself, repair and reenergise from the day. This allows you to be ready and excited when you open your eyes.

What happens when you don’t get enough? Your skin appearance is affected with wrinkles, increased signs of aging, dull complexion and puffy eyes. However, when you sleep enough and feel amazing, refreshed and energised. You will have glowing, wrinkle free skin without the baggy eyes and it will even help your mood. So love your bed and get some beauty rest.

4. Skin Treatment Using Oils

Now we have covered hydration, sleep and protecting yourself from the sun. It is time to discuss skin moisturising. Various oils can be used on your face, such as Jojoba oil, coconut oil, hemp seed oil and emu oil. Emu Oil is an excellent and all natural 100% pre moisturiser with no chemicals or nasties. It has high levels of Omega 3, 6, 7 and 9 as well as vitamin A and E.

In double blind research studies conducted in Australia, the preferred option was Emu Oil. This was due to its ability to penetrate deep into the skin, restore moisture and not leave an oily after feeling. Emu Oil is so effective; it even heals burns, relieves pain from skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and provides pain relief for arthritis and inflammation. Emu Oil can do amazing things, all from its natural moisturising properties.

Pure Emu Oil is not easily available in Singapore… but Wild Harvest Care’s signature Emu Oil Collection is not to be missed!
