4 Ways To Exfoliate Naturally For Smooth Summer Skin

In Singapore where it is summer all year long and the weather is always humid, our skin tend to get a little bit too oily. This causes our pores to clog up easily which may result in acne. One way we can keep our skin smooth is to exfoliate.

Why Exfoliate?

Exfoliation removes dead skin cells from the skin’s surface to improve its appearance and to prevent clogged pores and acne.

It may also help combat the signs of aging by removing dull and damaged skin, which encourages the growth of new and healthy skin.

What Are These Natural Methods?

1) Pacific Sea Salt, Organic Sugar & Essential Oils (BASE FOR THE EXFOLIANT)

This is an essential scrub for one and all, as it is one of the easiest home treatments that truly delivers!

  1. Natural Pacific Sea Salt
  2. Organic Sugar
  3. Essential Oils

Mix these ingredients together proportionately.

Not only is slathering sugar/salt and oil all over your body wickedly pleasant, but the exfoliating factor leaves skin refreshed, vibrant, and as soft as a certain anatomical part of an infant.

The essential oil is used for fragrance purposes (and is all natural).

How to Use:

In the shower, pat the sugar/salt scrub mixture and gently massage over your body.

For your face gently massage, avoiding the eye area and rinse off with warm water.

2) Lemon

Lemon is a natural source of vitamin C.

Combine it with the natural exfoliant (mentioned in point one) and you’re minutes away from bright, smooth skin.

You can add sea salt and essential oil of your choice.

Use raw oatmeal to scrub your face!

  1. For Normal to Dry skin: add milk to oatmeal.
  2. For Oily and Acne prone skin: add yogurt to oatmeal.

Alongside being an excellent exfoliant, it can also calm redness for those fighting skin ailments like Rosacea or even common sunburns.

4) Banana

When the bananas are starting to brown, smash the ingredients together with a fork.

This one skips the oil and relies purely on the benefits of bananas and the gently abrasive sugar.

  1. 1 Ripe Banana
  2. 3 Tablespoons of granulated sugar
  3. 1/4 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract (or your favourite essential oil ) – optional

Mash the banana and vanilla extract/essential oil separately without sugar.
