#1: 2 Nov – Woof-A-Thon

WOOF-A-THON is back again, this time round bigger and better than it was before! This isn’t your ordinary walkathon, Woof-A-Thon is organised by Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) to encourage dog owners to bring their dogs out for walks or activities. Studies have shown that dog ownership, reduces the risk of heart diseases as owners are likely to engage in physical activities with their dog.

Apart from just the walk, SHF has also organised activities such as basic health checks for dogs, photo booths, CPR for both humans and canine, and more! Even if you do not own any dogs, feel free to join in for the walk towards a healthier you and play with all the furballs that will be there!

#2: 17 Nov – Sesame Street Fun Run

Elmo. Cookie Monster. Big Bird. Do these names sound familiar? In conjunction to celebrate the 50th year of Sesame Street, Sesame Street has partnered up with Heros to bring to us the first-ever Sesame Street Run Tour!

The run kick-started in the Philippines this August and will be going to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore! It will be a 5km family fun run for both amateur and professionals. Join the characters in the exciting events that are planned for you or visit the interactive booths that feature your favourite character!

#3: 29 Nov to 1 Dec – Standard Chartered Marathon

The annual Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon is back again. Being a race where they stand by community spirit, racers support and motivate each other to cross the finishing line. It doesn’t matter if you are the fastest or slowest, but most importantly, challenge your own limits and be your own champion!

They are various routes that you can take – Marathon (42.195Km), Half Marathon (21.1Km), 10Km and 5Km. Apart from joining as an individual, get your friends along and participate in the Toyota Ekiden group race where 5 of you will complete an unequal distance that adds up to the distance of a full marathon.

#4: 2 Nov – The Purple Parade 2019

The Purple Parade is back again for the 7th year to promote awareness and celebrate the abilities of individuals with special needs! Standing in solidarity for such individuals, the movement also ensures that they have equal access to transport, education, employment, and social networks.

Head down to Suntec City this November to watch the traditional march-past contingent or support them by purchasing some of the handmade items made by persons with special needs! The carnival would also have exclusive Purple Parade merchandise, interactive games, and an inclusive concert!

#5: 2 & 3 Nov – The Great Grill Out

Guinness Great Grill Out is back! This year the ultimate barbecue festival returns with better-grilled roasts and signature brews!

#6: 2 & 3 Nov – The Conscious Festival

Sustainability has become a hot topic in recent years as global warming and other factors start hitting us. This year, Green is the New Black will be organising their annual The Conscious Festival in Singapore and a few other cities in Asia. Held over 2 days, the festival brings about the best conscious brands, speakers and social enterprises to empower individuals to live more consciously. Playing by example, the festival will be a zero-waste, carbon-neutral event where single-use plastics and disposables are banned.

#7: 9 & 10 Nov – Bazaar by the Pier 

Commemorating Singapore’s Bicentennial this year, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) organised this event for the public. Through the tour at the Singapore Maritime Gallery, you can understand the heritage of Singapore’s maritime, transformation and growth through the past years, and appreciate award-winning photography works. Experience the leap that Singapore went through in the past years from the days of being a fishing village who depended heavily on businesses at our port to where we are today. #9: 15 to 17 Nov & 22 to 24 Nov – Artbox

Artbox originated from Thailand as one of the largest pop-up creative markets in Southeast Asia! This year, Artbox, Eden: The Garden of Creation, is back again with a new home! Instead of the usual Bayfront Event Space, it is relocated to TheGrounds@Kranji with more than 300 booths spread across a 200,000 sq foot space!

Neon Lights is not like any other live music festival where people just go there to dance and jam to the music. #13: 15 to 17 Nov – The Gifting Edition

#17: 2 Nov – Walk For Rice 2019

Walk for Rice is launched by Fairprice Foundation where they aim to provide a better life for the community. For every 200m of walking completed by an individual during the Walk for Rice event, Fairprice Foundation would donate a bowl of brown rice and white rice to the needy residents, up to a maximum of 500,000 bowls in total. After the maximum capacity is reached, a bowl of oatmeal will be donated for every subsequent 400m. Apart from playing a part in the community, you will also get a goodie bag if you walk a minimum of 6 rounds, have fun at the small carnival, and reap the benefits of walking!
