#2: 28 January to 24 February – iLight Singapore

Be prepared to be mesmerised and dazzled by more than 30 art light installations that will cover the streets of Clarke Quay all the way to Bayfront. This year’s theme is “Bridges of Time”, so expect to see installations that will bring you back to the past or into the future. For all the millennials, get your cameras ready, you’ll be sure to get some good shots here!

P.S. Did you know that all the installations at the event are thoughtfully designed with energy saving lighting and/or environmentally friendly materials? So feel free to appreciate these art installations without any guilt, as they are all sustainably crafted!

#3: 11 to 13 January, 18 to 20 January – Eatbox

Which Singaporean doesn’t love to eat? From the organisers of Artbox, they’re bringing to us the first ever edition of Eatbox, where the main focus would be on FOOD! Stuff yourself full with foods from over 50 local and regional vendors. Not forgetting how much we love to document everything we eat, see and do, there will also be many photo opportunities there at the event with wall art murals and nicely decorated re-purposed shipping containers!

#4: 25 to 27 January – La Kopi 2019

As you might’ve guessed from the name of the event, the entire theme of the event would be centered around coffee! Whether you’re a kopi siu dai lover or a handcrafted cold drip coffee drinker, you’re bound to find the perfect cup of coffee for you! With many thematic areas to enjoy your cup(s) of coffee with your friends and family, this might be all coffee lovers’ dream come true. For those who want some excitement, the Singapore National Brewers Cup 2019 and Singapore National Barista Competition 2019 will be held there as well.

#7: 12 to 13 January – Yogafest W.E.

Perhaps the largest Yoga event to ever grace Singapore’s grounds, Yogafest W.E. will be bringing renowned yoga instructors from all over the world to us! There will be more than 25 classes over those 2 days, taught by instructors like Sean Phelps from USA, Victor Chau from Hong Kong, Fee Zard from Australia, Kominami Junko from Japan and more. There will also be a Well+Good market held alongside it where you can shop from lots of feel good foods and treats!

#8: 26 January – Run for Light 2019

Want to get fit and do good at the same time? Run for Light aims to spread compassion and positivity through this run, with Guide Dogs Singapore (GDS) as its adopted charity which part of the proceeds would go to. GDS helps make the lives of the visually impaired easier by teaching them skills vital for daily life, and for suitable clients, guide dogs are paired with them as well. Choose from a 5km fun run or a 10km competitive run. From $38, you get an event tee, a goodie bag and a finisher medal!

#9: 26 January – National Stadium Stadion by Spartan Race

Want to get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself physically? Spartan’s Stadion at National Stadium would be the perfect chance to do so! Named after the race run in Ancient Greece, Stadion was an original Olympic game. Featuring a 5km course with 20 obstacles, this race will be an exciting and refreshing one for beginners and seasoned racers alike as there will be brand new obstacles for all.

#10: 26 January – Garang Warrior Ultra

If you don’t know, Garang in Malay roughly translates to powerful in English. Garang Warrior Ultra aims to help you answer this question: How Garang are you? You get to choose the distance you want to complete (with a minimum of 4km) between 7am to 7pm, which means you can complete even more than 100km which would make you Extremely Garang by their standards! Registration covers basic food and drinks (at the start/end of the 4km route) to ensure you’re well fueled to make your way up the ranks.

#12: 20 January – Earthfest 2019

EarthFest is back again this year to further inspire and educate the community on what it means to be sustainable and how they can do so. There will be tons of workshops on sustainability, exhibitions and activities like fashion swaps and book swaps! #13: 10 to 13 January – Singapore Motor Show

Singapore’s largest motor event is back again this year at Suntec. If you’re considering getting a car soon for the new year, this is the place to be! Access all the major car brands available in Singapore at one place, and even watch renowned stunt driver Russ Swift putting his precision driving skills to the test! Held in support of Singapore Art Week, Art Stage’s theme for this exhibition is “I Am Art. Art reflects life. Life is mine, yours, ours.”. The exhibition focuses on the self-evaluation of experiences and associations between contemporary art and one self to evoke the main campaign statement: I am Art.
