2 May to 14 May – Peroni Sunset Cinema

After the very first edition of the Peroni Sunset Cinema sold out, it is back again this year with new award-winning films, food and drinks, all happening on a picture perfect beach. Unlike other outdoor cinemas, the gates to Peroni Sunset Cinema opens at 5pm. That is way before the movie screening starts for you and your friends to soak in the tropical atmosphere, catch up over dinner and sway to the beats from DJs and instrumentalists. There will also be fresh coastal cuisine available at the event by Tanjong Beach Club, but you’re free to bring in your own food if you’d like. Tickets are available here.

2 May to 27 May – Shakespeare in the Park – Julius Caesar

If you’re a huge fan of Shakespeare and have been to every single play based off his works, you mustn’t give this a miss. Directed by Guy Unsworth, this play has a modern age twist to it. Based in 2018 and here in Singapore, the setting will be feature present day current affairs and international relations and Julius Caesar will be played by a woman, as a woman. Look forward to a thrilling night under the stars. P.S. 3 May to 6 May – Thai Festival 2018

Don’t have the time to fly to Thailand for a short holiday? No problem! The Thai Festival organised by the Royal Thai Embassy is back again with all-time favourite Thai foods, fruits and fashion – specially flown in from Thailand! If you want to get your hands in the action, there are a few workshops available too. If spectating is more of your thing, there will also be an Asia Bar Battle going on over the event days. 5 May to 6 May – Doujin Market

A pop-culture inspired youth arts fair, “Doujin” is used to describe passionate individuals that highlight or self-publish their own work in Japanese. At Doujin Market, expect to find many creative individuals or groups exhibiting their creations in the form of comics, manga, music, games and stories. There will be more than 200 creators at the event along with exhibitions by companies in related fields for them to share about their products, expertise and opportunities for collaboration. Other highlights include seminars to further hone your skills, and manuscript and portfolio reviews for budding artists!

Organised by Frontier Danceland which specialises in contemporary dance, SIDES is back for its 5th edition featuring 3 strikingly different contemporary pieces that are the brainchild of choreographers from around the world, such as from Israel, UK, France and Singapore. Blogtique Weekend is a 3-day fair where local bloggers, along with young entrepreneurs, showcase and sell their offerings. There will be games to look forward to, along with workshops such as henna drawing, terrarium making, and most importantly – retail therapy! If you want to give back to society, bring down clothes that you no longer need as there will be a clothes donation drive there too in partnership with The Salvation Army.

12 May – Who Let The Dogs Out!

Attention all dog lovers and owners out there, this dog carnival is perfect for you! You get to ogle at all the cute dogs that will be strutting down the Project Dog Runway, and marvel at them displaying the tricks up their paws at Dogs Got Talent. There will also be 2 guest speakers at the event to share with you more about your dog’s health, and how to spot if your dog suffers from kidney disease and more. 12 May – Cycle & Connect

As its name suggests, Cycle and Connect is organised with the aim of letting participants connect with their loved ones through cycling on a 15km route starting from Punggol Promenade. There will be game stations and refreshment points along the way too if you want to take a break! 19 May – Fitness Fest 2018

Working out can’t get more fun than this! To celebrate DBS hitting its 50 year milestone, this year’s DBS Marina Regatta will be larger than ever, with the addition of a new segment: Battle Bay Extreme. Powered by Under Armour, it is said to be the region’s largest scale high intensity obstacle course with 3 difficulty levels to best suit your fitness level. Consider signing up for Run for Good: Coffee and Tea Run organised by Central Singapore Community Development Council that aims to encourage people to run for good causes!
