25th May – 1st July – Begonia Brilliance Floral Display

Some begonias are much sought after for their large and stunning flowers, and Gardens by the Bay celebrates the brilliance of begonias with its first-ever floral display showcasing more than 50 varieties with beautiful blooms in a spectrum of reds, oranges and yellows. The showy flowers – some grown by Gardens by the Bay’s horticulturists – introduce bursts of bright colour into imaginary worlds such as an undersea realm where octopuses, manta rays and giant clams reign.

Join the Begonia Brilliance Garden Trail daily at 11am and 3pm (2pm to 5pm on 2, 3, 16, 17, 30 June and 1 July) for free as they share fascinating botanical facts and anecdotes about the floral display!

26th May – 10th June – Cartoon Network Animate Your Life

Immerse yourself in the world of cartoons by animating your life at this 16-day Cartoon Network Festival. Bring your kids or take the nostalgic train back to when life was free of worries through fun and animation!

Get ready to go on an adventure in the Land of Ooo and get creative by Powerpuff-ing yourself in Townsville! Want to be a hero like Ben 10? Then test your skills at the Ben 10 boot camp. With the initiative of “Fare Cinema” or “Make Cinema”, the annual Italian film festival is back again with various titles like Italian Race, Naples in Veils, The Place, Like Crazy, Holding Hands and more! 1st June – 2nd June – 30-Hour Famine Camp: Backpack Challenge

For over 30 years, hundreds of youth from across Singapore have come together annually to make a stand against global poverty and hunger. In 2018, World Vision Singapore intends to spotlight the struggles of children and families living in conflict and disaster zones. This June Holiday, youths aged 13-30 have the chance to join a camp about learning empathy through Amazing Race style team activities and challenges while living off the bare essentials in their backpacks.

Presented by The Storytelling Centre Limited and The Arts House, the festival features a variety of performances including family and adult audience shows, workshops and local commissions – the Young Storytellers Showcase A Caravan of Stories platforming emerging talents and The Singapore Showcase Be Legendary featuring key storytelling and spoken word organisations.

3rd June – National Vertical Marathon 2018

Designed as an alternative to conventional flat-road marathons, National Vertical Marathon (NVM) is a race that sees its participants scale the entirety of a skyscraper. It is a sport that befits Singapore, an urban city filled with tall buildings, and provides a hearty physical challenge to all participants as well.

With the overwhelming responses from the large congregation of climbing enthusiasts, the NTU Sports Club is here to bring about another year of stair-climbing to people of all ages and walks of life, sportsman or not, with the goal to further develop the prominence of vertical marathon events in the public eye and encourage healthy lifestyles.

8th June – Tiger Street Food Festival

9th June – 30th September – Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes Exhibition

Riding the trend of Avengers: Infinity War, the ArtScience Museum will be premiering a brand-new exhibition that delves deeper into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Opening on 9th June, this tenth-anniversary exhibition will be an interactive presentation on the unique perspective of each Marvel Studios Super Hero.

The exhibition features installations on all the major characters introduced in the first decade of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy. It will also include engaging displays curated by ArtScience Museum, which highlight the science, technology, art, and cultural stories behind each Marvel Studios’ film.

It utilises state-of-the-art AV technology and immersive media to transport visitors into the dynamic world of the Marvel Studios Super Heroes. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in many of the box office-smashing movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe under one roof. Highlights include an interactive journey into the world of the recent pop culture landmark, Black Panther; an immersive installation focused on last year’s Thor: Ragnarok, as well as sneak peeks into the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War as well as Ant-Man and the Wasp.

16th June – 17th June – Wan Qing Dumpling Festival 2018

Dumpling Festival, also known as the Dragon Boat Festival or Duan Wu Jie, is an important festival for the Chinese communities all around the world. Practices during this festival include the dragon boating, consumption of dumplings and the hangings of charms and pouches filled with herbs to ward off insects in the summer heat.

Wan Qing Dumpling Festival presents an array of activities over the week from dumpling making to music performances to dramatized the change in culture from traditional to contemporary.

23rd June – Pledge Your Heart Walk 2018

Organised by the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF), Pledge Your Heart Walk 2018, the biennial event is held in conjunction with the Go Red for Women (GRFW) campaign that aims to raise awareness and reduce cardiovascular disease in women. All funds raised from the event will go towards the SHF’s GRFW campaign initiatives in Singapore.

The Pledge Your Heart Walk 2018 is a non-competitive walk, also with a side aim of motivating physical activity and heart-healthy living, ensuring a fun and rewarding experience for one and their entire family. Participants are strongly encouraged to wear their pledge tees and RED accessories or even come in red dresses if you like!

Singapore Art Book Fair (SGABF) is an independent annual multi-day festival specialising in contemporary art books & zines.
